Forest Therapy

What is Forest Therapy?

  • Forest Therapy, also known as Forest Bathing and Shinrin-Yoku, is a therapeutic practice that guides people to an inner state of relaxation and sensory restoration through doing a series of sensory oriented invitations that bring them into present moment relationship with the forest. It is a gentle, physically undemanding practice that takes place in an area of forest or along a forest trail. The practice supports the health of both humans and forests.

August abundance forest Walk

Thursday, August 1st @ 10am, you are invited to appreciate and acknowledge the abundance of Summer.

Nature shows us how we are surrounded by pure abundance. Summer is such magical and busy time. Join me in the forest where we can slow down, breathe and take the time to appreciate Mother Earth and live in reciprocity with her.

July New Moon Walk

Saturday, July 6th @ 10 am, I will be hosting a walk in honour of the new moon.

I love spending time in Nature during the New Moon. A New Moon invites us to look inward and to gain clarity on what we want to call into our lives. Nature provides us a safe place to land and reflect on our intentions for the future.

Testimonial

“I asked Sarah to take my group of third year nursing students out on a Forest Therapy Walk for for a day of self-care & in celebration of completing their summer clinical rotation. Most of my students had never experienced Forest Therapy before and weren’t sure what to expect. Within moments of arriving, Sarah helped us feel safe and allowed for each of us to open up and soften into the experience. She guided us through the process of quieting our busy, task-focused minds which let us listen to the messages of the forest and our hearts. My students reflected on this experience as enriching, an opportunity to connect to themselves, their senses, and their needs; and offered them a tangible, accessible tool to incorporate into their self-care practice that will enhance their resilience as nurses moving forward. We are grateful to Sarah and the forest for all we learned in this experience.”

I am also available for private bookings. From one-on-one walks to groups of up to ten participants. Forest Therapy Walks are a wonderful way to connect with friends, family and/or colleagues. It’s excellent for team building…

Walks are 2-3 hours depending on groups size.
